On any given day, God can drop a new adventure into your lap. That’s what happened to my mom and I when researching online classes and we found ourselves staring at a castle that looked like a fairy tale.
The castle is a sending base for Youth With A Mission whose efforts are touching nations all over the world. When we heard the details of the trip, we sensed God has something for us there.
YWAM is an international Christian group whose aim is to convey (share the good news about Jesus), change (provide training and discipleship for believers) and care (being examples of compassion meeting needs on a real level). The ministry we will be serving is sending teams out to the entire globe (and Germany).
WHAT: We are serving the missionaries of Youth With A Mission in Hurlach, Germany—basically doing anything they have for us whether scrubbing floors, doing laundry, serving meals, doing dishes and yes, cleaning the bathroom. We will also get to experience community outreaches and worship times at this international sending base.
WHEN: Our trip is July 2—July 16, 2013 and will involve a team of 25 people (mainly other homeschool teens and parents) from all over the country.
WHERE: Hurlach, Germany. In 1972, YWAM miraculously acquired this base before the Munich Olympics. Since then it has been a major place of activity, outreach, equipping and sending people all over the world to serve in Jesus’ name.
Hurlach was built 400 years ago and was originally a hunting lodge of a wealthy family. Now it is a place where worship, witness, prayer and fellowship are a daily way of life. On excursion days we will visit nearby Munich and the former prison camp of Dachau.
We ask for your partnership in sending us. The trip costs will be a total of $4600 for my mom and I. Would you be willing to help us by sending a gift? Checks can be made to Christ’s Church of Amherst and will be tax-deductible. A quick response is appreciated since airplane tickets need to be bought in April. Any amount will be hugely appreciated!! Thank you so much for joining us in the adventure!
I have a plan to blog about our experiences in Germany as we go. I will post pictures of our adventures along with my posts as well! I also want to produce some vlogs (video blogs, for the uninformed).
I hope you will check it out! The blog is up and running but I won’t be posting ‘till this summer. I think this will be a great way to get you all involved with what we’re doing even more and something really cool for me to look back on!
Check out my blog this summer at:

See you there!
